Race #6 has been cancelled due to inclement weather, brown water and pending surf. The worldwide is still open to race.

KIRA Race #6 Results Worldwide 2021

Divisions: OC-2, OC-1, Surfski, SUP, Prone paddleboard, V-1

Long course: 11 miles. Sunset towards Kawela bay and back down to Haleiwa.

Short Course: 7 miles. Sunset to Haleiwa. (Prone and SUP must race short course)

Worldwide Course: 9 miles Anything goes.

Race anything you want, but SUP 14’ is the waterman craft of the day.

Cost: $8.00 per race.

Details: You must submit your actual race time when you register- no guesstimates. You must race the Oahu course on Saturday March 13 between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon. Worldwide can race any time the week prior to close of registration on March 14.
Suggested start times are:

  • 9:30 a.m. for short course.
  • 10:00 a.m. for long course.
  • You must submit your actual race time when you register- no guesstimates, hence no registering before you race.
  • Long Course: The yellow Maui Jim Buoy will be a quarter mile offshore of Sunset Beach. Start behind the Maui Jim buoy facing towards Kahuku and race to another yellow Maui Jim Buoy approx. 1.5 miles east. Turn on the Maui Jim buoy and surf to the BIG RED channel marker outside of Haleiwa Harbor. Take a left on BIG RED and finish just off the jetty on the left by the beach (approx. 1 mile from BIG RED).
  • Short course: Start at the yellow Maui Jim Buoy a quarter mile offshore of Sunset Beach, facing towards Haleiwa. Start behind the Maui Jim buoy facing towards Haleiwa and race to the BIG RED channel marker outside of Haleiwa Harbor. Take a left on BIG RED and finish just off the jetty on the left by the beach (approx. 1 mile from BIG RED).
  • Worldwide: You can race anywhere at any time for one whole week prior to the closing of registration. Oahu paddlers are welcome to use their best 9 miles to enter the Worldwide course.
  • There will be 2 sets of results for the Oahu courses: 1 for those who started at the suggested start time, and one with everyone, no matter what time they started.
  • The buoys will be in place from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon, so don’t miss the window.

After you race, register at www.flpregister.com, but before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday March 14th.

Registration: Register March 13 or March 14 at www.flpregister.com. Registration closes March 14 at 6:00pm HST. You will need your ACTUAL time to register, so please register AFTER you race, and choose the correct course.
